New Lifehouse Academy is a ministry of Teen Challenge Oklahoma. They are a lower cost Christian boarding school designed for troubled or misbehaving girls, ages 14-18. Their goal is to provide the teenage girls and their families with the tools and resources to help them begin to thrive academically, relationally and spiritually.
First-Class Boarding School, Spiritual Support and a Top Education in One… Restoring Teens and Families for a Brighter Future
New Lifehouse is a 12-15 month residential program where they strive to help your daughter become all God desires. This process includes mentoring and biblical counseling, group studies and personal studies, vocational learning and education in New Lifehouse’s boarding school, The Cross Christian Academy.
New Lifehouse (NLH) is nestled at the foothills of the Ozarks near Grand Lake on a 40-acre picturesque and peaceful property. Nearby the campus, NLH owns and has access to over 900 acres of property with a large creek, wooded hills, and trails.
The staff of New Lifehouse is dedicated to pouring themselves into your daughter’s life. Mentoring and a faith-based approach are key ingredients to reaching young women and helping them change their path.
Top Quality Academics & Creative Arts
The academic program receives high priority at New Lifehouse from day one on. They operate The Cross Christian Academy, their fully accredited educational program, on a year-round schedule. A personalized education plan is developed for each student, upon which they evaluate and give access to individual progress on a regular basis.
In 2017, ACT rated The Cross Christian Academy’s performance 30% higher than the average of other schools in Oklahoma in Math, Reading, and English. Top Quality Animal Therapy
At New Lifehouse, they offer a partnership with Oasis Animal Adventures a unique animal therapy program. Oasis offers an animal therapy program that utilizes unique, exotic animals, as well as standard horses and mini horses.
Top Quality Athletics & Recreation
In addition to everyday recreational activities, every student at New Lifehouse has the opportunity to participate in varsity athletics. NLH is convinced that participating on a team in a competitive environment builds character and when led in a proper way, helps to work out many of the issues a young woman might be dealing with in her life.
Designed for Girls Who Are Struggling
NLH is a Christian boarding school for girls, designed for troubled teenagers who are:
» Making poor and even dangerous choices
» Acting entitled, selfish, or detached
» Manipulating family and others
» Lying, sneaking out, isolating from family
» Rebelling against authority
» Depressed, withdrawn or self-destructive
» Struggling with anger, family discord, peer pressure
» Academically behind or unmotivated.
Parents often tell NLH how they feel their daughter is going down the wrong path and making poor choices. NLH can affirm to parents you are not alone and hope for success does exist. New Lifehouse has seen what the power of God can do in even the most desperate of situations.
NLH believes God has a plan for your daughter to be the best woman possible and they want to be a part of helping her get there.
“One day soon I hope to give back to the program and people who helped save my life. I am proud to say I want to go back and work there and give hope to the teens there, just like there where staff there to give me hope.” – Student
Family Restoration
Another major emphasis of NLH’s program is their work to bring hope and healing to the entire family. While a student is enrolled at NLH, staff also spends time working to restore the environment in the home. At the same time, they teach personal responsibility to teens for their own past choices, they are also fully aware the family environment has a significant impact on teens. New Lifehouse strives to give hope and bring restoration to the entire family, not just the student.
NLH’s family program includes elements such as parent coaching, the study of the same materials the student is learning, conferences with parents, time with a parent advocate, and at times, phone calls aimed at restoration.
New Lifehouse wants each teen to discover the purpose for which God has uniquely designed her. For senior students, to help find and develop their strengths, NLH offers advanced leadership training.
“Teen Challenge works. It is effective; it is literally changing the lives of young Americans from every walk of life.”
